Takumi were delighted to welcome French ambassador to Ireland Jean-Pierre Thébault to our facility on Tuesday 13th September. The ambassador was accompanied by the Fianna Fail spokesperson on jobs, enterprise & innovation, Niall Collins. After a short briefing and introduction the ambassador was given a tour of the Takumi manufacturing facility.

Having worked for an Airbus related company before taking up diplomatic office Mr Thebault displayed an in depth knowledge of the manufacturing process and displayed a keen interest in Takumi`s range of aerospace and medical device manufacturing.

Mr Jean-Pierre Thébault recently launched a new industry led Master of Science in Mechatronics at University of Limerick highlighting strong links between Ireland and France in the engineering (and indeed, the education) industries. This visit from the French ambassador brings into sharp focus how Ireland`s Precision Engineering sector could be of great assistance to meet the ever growing demands of the expanding international market that is Airbus and the aerospace industry in general.
